Philippine rice has once again proven its excellence on the global stage after earning the Second Best Rice in the World award at the 2025 World Rice Conference held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from November 7 to 9, 2025. The PhilRice-bred NSIC Rc 218 SR (Mabango 3) received the honor at the World’s Best Rice 2025 Awards for its soft texture, aromatic quality, and premium grains. This recognition highlights the superior quality, competitiveness, and global appeal of rice produced in the Philippines.
